A Magnetic Ring Inductor is a type of sensor that uses a magnetic ring (a toroidal core of magnetic material with high permeability) to achieve an inductive effect. It consists of a coil wound around a magnetic ring. The operating principle of the magnetic ring inductor is based on the self-inductive inductance effect. When current passes through the coil, the magnetic field generated inside the coil magnetises the toroid to form a stable magnetic field. When an external magnetic field is applied to the toroid, the state of magnetisation of the toroid changes accordingly, resulting in a change in the magnetic field inside the coil, which generates an induced potential at both ends of the coil.
