A. Self-inductance phenomenon

Self-inductance phenomenon: electromagnetic induction phenomenon due to changes in the current of the coil itself. The electric potential generated in the self-inductance phenomenon is called self-inductance electric potential; the current generated is called self-inductance current.

Coefficient of self-inductance: The ratio of the self-induced magnetic chain of a coil to the current I, also known as self-inductance, or inductance, expressed by the letter L. The unit of inductance is Henry, expressed by the symbol H.

Common Inductors

1. Inductor shape.

Inductive Coils can be divided into two categories: hollow and iron core inductor coils.

2. Inductor parameters

Inductors have two important parameters, one is the inductance, the other is the rated current.

● inductance

Inductance is generally marked on the shell of the inductor, usually using the direct marking method or color coding method, the unit is microhen (uH).

● Rated Current

Rated current is the maximum current allowed to pass through the inductor during normal operation, often represented by the letters A, B, C, D, E. The nominal currents are 50, 150, 300, 700, and 1600 mA. In use, the actual working current of the inductor must be less than the rated current, otherwise the inductor coil will be seriously heated up or even burned.

Fourth, the inductor detection

Using a multimeter resistance block "R × 1" block, measure the DC resistance value of both ends of the inductor coil. General high-frequency inductor DC resistance in the zero point a few to a few ohms between; low-frequency inductor resistance in a few hundred ohms to a few thousand ohms between; medium-frequency inductor resistance in a few ohms to a few dozen ohms between.

The measured value is compared with the value specified in its technical standards: if the resistance value is much smaller than the specified resistance value, it means that there is a local short circuit or a serious short circuit in the coil; if the resistance value is very large or the meter needle does not move, it means that there is a broken circuit in the coil.
